The World Pool Masters returns to Gibraltar, March 2-4 2018, with a host of former champions competing to take the 25th title – and tickets are on sale now at www.buytickets.gi.
To celebrate the quarter centenary of 9-ball’s biggest invitational event, promoters Matchroom Multi Sport will be inviting back many of the tournament’s previous champions.
Defending champion and recent Mosconi Cup winner David Alcaide will be hoping to make it two titles in two, a feat achieved by Shane van Boening in 2014 and 2015. The American No.1 will be looking to complete his Masters hat-trick in March.
Darren Appleton was the 2009 Masters champion and has since taken the silver medal twice, can he strike gold again in Gibraltar? The Yorkshireman was beaten to the title in 2013 by Niels Feijen and the Dutchman completes the line-up of four players already confirmed for the 25th World Pool Masters. More players will be added to the line-up in early January.
Matchroom Sport Chairman Barry Hearn commented: “We’re celebrating 25 years of the World Pool Masters by welcoming back a field of former champions to the Masters arena.
“It’s set to be one of the most exciting Masters we’ve ever staged with arguably the most star-studded field any 16 player 9-ball tournament has ever seen. Some of the biggest names in pool will be in attendance – make sure you are too.”
There are five sessions in total with tickets priced from £7 for Friday evening and weekend afternoon sessions, and £12 weekend evening sessions. A season ticket comprising all five sessions costs just £34.99. All tickets are available from www.buytickets.gi
