MATCHROOM LANDS IN CHINESE TAIPEI WITH WORLD POOL MASTERS AND FULLCAN SPORTS CHINESE TAIPEI OPEN DOUBLE-HEADER

The World Nineball Tour arrives in Chinese Taipei next January as the prestigious World Pool Masters returns alongside the Fullcan Sports Chinese Taipei Open, delivering an electrifying nine days of world-class nineball in Taipei City. The landmark double-header will see Matchroom and Fullcan Sports join forces to showcase two of the sport’s biggest events on one stage.

The World Pool Masters returns from 12-14 January, bringing together 16 of the world’s best players for one of the sport’s most prestigious and historic titles. The invitational showdown will introduce a historic first for the event with a spectacular two-table arena setup, creating more action, more drama, and an enhanced experience for fans watching inside the arena and around the world.

Before that, the Fullcan Sports Chinese Taipei Open returns for its fifth edition from 6-10 January, marking its debut as a co-promoted event on the World Nineball Tour. Established as one of the region’s premier competitions, the tournament will welcome a 128-player international field competing through a double-elimination format to the Last 64 as the world’s elite, rising stars, and home favourites collide in a thrilling race for glory at Songshan Cultural and Creative Park in Taipei City, Chinese Taipei.

The landmark double-header further strengthens the World Nineball Tour’s presence in Asia and brings two world-class events to one of pool’s most passionate and successful nations.

Marvin Wang, CEO of Fullcan Management Consulting, said: “Becoming a joint promoter of this landmark double-header is a deeply humbling milestone for Fullcan Sports. This is a natural evolution of our mission to elevate the stage for world-class players and maximise excitement for global fans.

“We are immensely grateful to Matchroom for their trust. Alongside our global ambassadors—Carlo Biado, Aloysius Yapp, Francisco Sanchez Ruiz, and Moritz Neuhausen—we look forward to bridging East and West. Thank you, and we cannot wait to welcome you all to Taipei in 2027.”

Emily Frazer, CEO of Matchroom Multi Sport, said: “As Matchroom heads to Chinese Taipei next January, we’re bringing two world-class events to one of the strongest and most passionate nations in pool with the return of the World Pool Masters and the Fullcan Sports Chinese Taipei Open.

“The Chinese Taipei Open has already established itself as one of Asia’s leading events, and we’re excited to welcome it to the World Nineball Tour as a co-promoted event. Alongside the World Pool Masters, it creates an incredible nine-day showcase of world-class pool. Our partnership with Fullcan Sports is an important step in continuing the growth of the sport across Asia, and we’re excited to bring the world’s best players to Taipei next January.”

Further details regarding qualification criteria for the World Pool Masters, ticket information, and global broadcast coverage for both events will be announced soon.
