Following the launch of WNT NXTGEN earlier this year, the second event under the new global junior banner will introduce eight seeded players into the 32-player field at WNT NXTGEN London, based on performances and rankings earned from the inaugural WNT NXTGEN event in Sarajevo this year.
Taking place alongside the UK Open Pool Championship from 28-30 May, WNT NXTGEN London will continue the Tour’s commitment to creating a professional and structured pathway for the next generation of stars, with junior players competing in the same world-class environment as the sport’s elite professionals.
The event will conclude with the WNT NXTGEN London final played live centre stage of the UK Open Pool Championship and broadcast live on WNT TV, providing a global platform for the sport’s future stars to showcase their talent.
The introduction of seeded players represents another major development for junior nineball, rewarding performance and consistency while raising the competitive standard across all WNT NXTGEN events.
CEO of Matchroom Multi Sport, Emily Frazer, said: “Introducing seeded players into WNT NXTGEN events is another huge step in establishing a true professional structure for junior nineball. These players are earning their positions through performance and results, which is exactly what the World Nineball Tour is all about.
“With the WNT NXTGEN London taking place alongside the iconic UK Open Pool Championship, this is also a fantastic opportunity to discover the next breakout star from the UK. We’re excited to see the next generation competing on one of the sport’s biggest stages.”
WNT NXTGEN London will feature 32 of the world’s leading junior talents competing for valuable ranking points, progression opportunities and the chance to continue climbing the official WNT NXTGEN rankings.
The launch of seeded fields forms part of the wider long-term vision for WNT NXTGEN, which was established to unify and elevate junior nineball under one global banner while creating a direct pathway into the professional World Nineball Tour.
