Ruijsink’s return marks a significant moment for Team USA, with the Dutchman having masterminded the nation’s last two victories in 2018 and 2019. His leadership during that period helped re-establish belief, structure, and a winning mentality within the American side — something he now aims to reignite.

Since that back-to-back success, Team USA has suffered six consecutive defeats, and Ruijsink now returns with a clear mission to rebuild, reset, and restore a winning culture — drawing on his renowned tactical discipline and ability to unite teams as the USA looks to turn the tide on home soil.

Johan Ruijsink, Team USA Captain, said: “Coming back to lead Team USA again means a great deal to me. The Mosconi Cup has always been in my heart. Because it is about more than just raw talent; It is about heart, teamwork and handling the biggest moments in the most intense environment.

We need to be 100% committed, prepared and ready to show that we have some of the best players and upcoming talents in the world to choose from. It is an honour to be part of that effort and with the help of our incredible fan base, it is time to set the record straight.”

Emily Frazer, CEO of Matchroom Multi Sport, added: “We’re delighted to welcome Johan back as captain of Team USA. His impact on the team during the 2018 and 2019 victories was undeniable — he brought structure, belief, and a winning culture that delivered results.

“We want to bring that real competitive edge back to the Mosconi Cup, and we trust Johan to do exactly that. He knows what it takes to win this event, and with the competition returning to American soil, it’s incredibly exciting to see if he can inspire this team to rise again and end their losing streak.”

With a passionate home crowd expected in Orlando, the stage is set for a blockbuster showdown as Team USA looks to reclaim the Mosconi Cup in front of their fans.

Further details on the 2026 Mosconi Cup, including ranking structure and qualification cut-offs for both Team USA and Team Europe, will be announced soon.
