DRAW MADE FOR 2023 SPANISH OPEN POOL CHAMPIONSHIP

The draw has been made for the 2023 Spanish Open Pool Championship taking place from June 20 to June 25 at Pazo De Feiras E Congresos De Lugo, Spain with WNT No.1 and local favourite Francisco Sanchez Ruiz set to open his campaign against Enrique Rodríguez Lema live on Sky Sports.

The Spanish Open Pool Championship is one of five 256-player field tournament promoted by Matchroom on the World Nineball Tour in partnership with The Asociación Gallega de Billar Pool (AGP), with players set to fight through a seeded double elimination stage led by the top 128 on the World Nineball Tour Rankings before only 64 make it to the single elimination rounds.

Two-time World Pool Masters champion David Alcaide will set out for a historic title on home soil against Paul Florín Mandroiu whilst rising Spanish stars Jonas Souto Comino and Jose Alberto Delgado will face off against Jamie Bryan and Dimitrios Siampanis respectively.

A stacked field will head to Spain with over 50 nationalities represented including USA hero Shane Van Boening taking on Gareth Esprit as he looks for his first World Nineball Tour crown since the 2022 World Pool Championship. Newly crowned UK Open Pool Championship winner Eklent Kaçi will start out vs Heriberto Aybar Santana and World Pool Masters champion Ko Pin Yi will meet Javier Raposo Gómez. There will be a return to the Nineball arena for China’s Wu Jia Qing with the 2005 world champion up against Óliver Rodríguez Roa of Spain.

The top 128 players in the field were seeded based on the 2023 World Nineball Tour Rankings with Round 1 matches taking place over the opening two days.
