Matchroom President Barry Hearn OBE is to support the Future Youth Zone’s community Crowdfunder on November 6-7 by match funding donations to the charity.
Future Youth Zone is based in the Becontree, Barking and Dagenham area of London where Hearn grew up, with the charity providing a purpose-built facility for young people in the region.
Hearn is a patron of Future Youth Zone and supports the charity through the Matchroom Sport Foundation, and is backing their 36-hour crowdfunder on November 6-7, pledging to match fund up to £50,000 of donations.
The match funding will be used towards giving young people within the three London OnSide Youth Zones a hot meal during the winter period and ensuring that their facilities can remain open daily throughout the year.
“Barry has been a fantastic support to Future Youth Zone, and an inspiration to local young people that through hard work they can achieve anything,” said Future Youth Zone CEO Gavin Evans.
“Please join our Crowdfunder and support in any small way you can so that together we can double your donations and provide a safe space and hot meals for young people this winter and beyond.”
