HARD-EARNED GOLD FOR FEIJEN AND GOMEZ | WNT RANKING
Niels Feijen and Roberto Gomez have both captured long-awaited victories on the World Nineball Tour, each securing their first WNT Ranking titles at back-to-back events in the United States.
Feijen, a former world champion, returned to the top with a triumphant showing at the Diamond Open Nineball Professional Players Championship, while Gomez finally broke through with a dominant performance at the Beasley Open.
The Terminator, added another accolade to his storied career in Philadelphia, edging past in-form Albanian Eklent Kaçi in a gripping final. Kaçi, fresh off a title-winning performance at the McDermott Open earlier this month, pushed Feijen all the way to 8-8. But the Dutchman held his nerve in the closing moments, stringing together the last two racks to seal a 10-8 victory—his first WNT crown and a timely reminder of his class on the global stage.
Just a few days later, it was Roberto Gomez’s turn to shine. The Filipino star—runner-up at the World Pool Championship back in 2007—finally claimed his maiden WNT Ranking title at the Beasley Open in Raleigh, North Carolina. Facing rising American talent Lukas Fracasso-Verner in the final, Gomez delivered a clinical display, cruising to a 13-6 win and celebrating a moment longly anticipated.
With two more names etched into the 2025 WNT winners’ list, the tour now leaves U.S. shores and sets sail for Europe. First up is the TAOM V10 Open, currently underway in Helsinki, Finland, with the next WNT champion to be crowned by April 27.
Then, attention turns to a packed May schedule—beginning with the Scottish Open from April 30 to May 4, before the return of the UK Open Pool Championship in Telford from May 6–11. Defending champion Robbie Capito headlines the 256-player field, hoping to go back-to-back on British soil.
