Joshua Filler continued to cement his legacy in 2026, producing one of the most dominant performances in Matchroom Major history to win the UK Open. The German star demolished Poland’s Wojciech Szewczyk 13-1 in the final, becoming the first player ever to lift the UK Open title twice.
Known as ‘The Killer’, Filler entered 2026 in top form after helping Team Europe to another Mosconi Cup victory and winning the 2025 European Open, where he also stormed to a 13-1 final win over Naoyuki Ōi.
Among the most accomplished players of his era, Filler’s career highlights include the 2018 World Pool Championship, 2019 US Open, 2025 European Open, and UK Open titles in 2022 and 2026. A key figure for Team Europe in the Mosconi Cup, he has also claimed MVP honours three times, in 2017, 2022 and 2023.
